Taking care of your shirt Part 2
5-Stains
It's wise to be ready for this
because it will undoubtedly occur at some point. When it occurs, take quick
action. Try carefully cleaning it off with water and, in certain situations, a
small amount of soap if the stain is not too strong. Use a stain remover if the
stain is from grass or mud. When hand washing with cold water, liquid detergents
are effective at removing oil or grease stains. Wearing an undershirt can
prevent pit stains from deodorant from showing up on
white shirts, which are often targets.
In order to prevent chemical discolorations, you should occasionally apply your
cologne first, allow it to dry, and then put on your dress shirt.
Use as little detergent or chemical as possible on fragile, high-quality materials to avoid discoloration from frequent chemical contact. Take it to the Laundromat and ask them to try to remove the stain as gently as possible if it's really obstinate
6-Folding
If you need to fold your custom-made shirt, perhaps when traveling for work or to a special event, then follow these simple step-by-step instructions to avoid wrinkles. You can also roll your shirts instead to save space in your suitcase.
Step 1) Do all the buttons up on the shirt and lay it flat on a surface (front side facing down). Smooth out the back of the shirt to remove any wrinkles.
Step 2) Take one of the sleeves and fold it backwards at an angle towards the center of the shirt. (The fold line should start at the center of the shoulder). Then lay the sleeve backwards so that the cuff is lying flat side down near the bottom edge of the shirt. The side of the shirt, where the sleeve has been folded, should also be folded inwards so that the fold line starting from the shoulder runs all the way down to the bottom edge of the shirt.
Step 3) Repeat the same step with the other sleeve, which should lay on top of other sleeve.
Step 4) for long-length shirts, use both hands to hold the bottom of the shirt and fold it halfway. Then fold it again until it sits just below the collar. For shirts with a shorter length, use both hands to hold the bottom of the shirt and create one fold by resting the bottom edge just below the collar.
Step 5)
Place your folded shirt (front-facing)
into your suitcase at the top. Remove your shirt and hang it as soon as you
arrive at your destination.
6-Storage
Whether you prefer to hang or fold your shirts, button them up before placing them back in your closet. You can arrange them by most used, color, pattern or occasion and match them with your favorite tie or jacket.
